Create your first website

To create a new site from your TailStatic dashboard

  1. Go to Sites section from the left sidebar
  2. Click Create Site button on top of the dashboard
  3. In the popup that opens, enter a site name. This can be any descriptive name such as marketing-site-v1 without spaces. Click Create to proceed.
  4. TailStatic will setup your site strucutre on your storage. Your new site will be added to the site list. Find your new site and click Manage to enter site editor.

Preview the site

Navigate to pages/index.liquid and click on Preview tab on top to toggle preview bar. To open the preview in a new window, click on ↗️ button on top of preview pane.

Publishing the site

To publish a site, you must have a domain that should point to TailStatic.

Configure your webserver to map your domain to TailStatic. Follow reverse proxy and https page to find instructions about configuring your domain.

Once your domain is configured, click on Publish Site button in your site editor. If this is a new site, you'll be prompted to enter your domain. Enter the domain in the popup and press Create.

TailStatic will now begin to publish your site. Once you see confirmation on screen, visit your website with your domain and you should see a rendered pages/index.liquid on your screen.

Congratulations! You have published your first website.
